Frequently Asked Questions
Travel is complimentary within Des Moines. Anything outside Des Moines is subject to a fee of $.70 per mile, roundtrip. Travel beyond 1 hour in one direction are subject to a $15/ hr rate, round trip per artist.
For a Bride reserving hair & makeup for herself, a preview session, and a party of 6 also having hair and makeup- the average investment is $1,926.

Short answer: No. Preview sessions are not always necessary. The artists of HDG are confident in created your dream hair & makeup look first try. However, let's chat about a few reasons these sessions are important beyond the vision of your hair or makeup style.
-It is the perfect opportunity to get to know your artist’s personality. It's crucial that you feel comfortable with your artist to ensure your beauty needs are met.
-As professionals, our main focus is meeting your expectations. However, the desired look is not always 100% achievable depending on your hair or skin type and face shape. Previews are a good time to discuss your options or try different looks that may flatter your natural features.
-This is also a perfect time to discuss any beauty regimes you plan on starting for your wedding journey! Most commonly brides will express wanting to get a facial or waxing while we work on their wedding party's beauty. Many don't realize, makeup is not supposed to be applied after a facial or waxing and often times the makeup won’t adhere to the skin. Had we not discussed this prior to the big day, it would have been extremely difficult to achieve their desired look, and I can guarantee that neither of us would be satisfied with the results!
To secure your date, a signed agreement and a 50% retainer is required at the time of booking. If this is not received within 72 hours of inquiring, your time and date are not guaranteed.
